2.0.x do the check using SMB - it's patchlevel checks only, no local
security policy (so if C:\WinNT is word writeable, it won't tell you
about it).

My next task for these checks is to write a very high-level API (like
the one used for the RedHat checks) which will allow us to perform 
the checks independantly from the transport medium (SMB or anything else
we can use). At least two people asked me to perform local Windows
checks over SSH, and by writing a clean API for the checks we'll get
there easily.
