Actually, the fourth field indicates how many plugins total are
*expected to be run* by the scan, not how many the server has loaded. 
Launch a scan with only a few plugins enabled - the number should be
small, reflecting the number you've explicitly enabled plus any in the
"settings" category (which are run regardless of their settings in a
config file) plus any autodependencies (if enabled). 

[Now if only I could figure out why the third field sometimes exceeds
the fourth...]
