I've looked through the FAQ and on the net and haven't been able to locate the answer to this.
I have a pretty big network to scan and I'd like to run thorough port scans (both TCP and UDP) within this network. The problem is that it takes a long time to do the scanning and I have a set window for nessus to do the rest of its work. I can run port scans at any time, but I'm restricted in when I can use the vulnerability testing part of nessus.
So, I'd like to run the port scans separately (using nmap) and then feed the port scans into nessus. But, I have to do the vulnerability testing starting at midnight so I'd like to run everything from the command line so I don't have to be up half the night. Can anyone tell me how I can get nessus to use a separately produced nmap scan from the command line? Is there something in the nessusrc I can tweak? Also, are there particular nmap options that I need to use in order to get nessus to use the previously produced scan?
Many thanks!!
