Is use_mac_addr set to "yes" in nessusd.conf? If so, consider changing it to no and restarting nessusd.
I believe you can change this setting from the client side only if using the unix client.
You can also change it through NessusWX by connecting the client to the server and then going to
Communications->Server Preferences toward the bottom part you will find use_mac_addr
