The Nessus Client post 2.2 release series requires gtk+2.
However, it should work with all of the release since 2.0.0.

Not true. I'm using the latest Nessus and it compiled fine on my GTK 1.2

So, 2.2.4 should be OK. You need the devel-package of course
if you compile yourself.

This is more likely the cause of his problem
