Hi guys,
I use nessus 2.2.3 with the latest registered plugins to scan our internal network.
The range of addresses configured is specified either as /24 or as individual addresses.
for example I have 27.1 ,27.2 and so on to 27.41.
I found out that there are only 3 machines in this range of ip (27.5 , 27.6, 27.9) the rest not being assigned (and not active).
For the last 3 weeks I had this message as result for the ip that were not assigned.
The results from last scan (performed this weekend ) have no reference to ip that were not active.
That's good. But my question is : should the results be obtained only for ip that are actives ?
Something changed in the way that results are interpreted for this plugin ?
The configuration of the nessusrc is made using George's nessusrc update script and specifying Windows (all three , misc, CGI, info, families)
