There was a bug in libnessus/network.c which could result in incomplete SSL reads, but that's fixed in 2.2.4. I'm not aware of any differences between 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 (you can find a changelog at the bottom of the 2.2.3 announcement, at <http://mail.nessus.org/pipermail/nessus-announce/2005-February/msg00000.html>). Which scanner plugins were you using? And are they the same across the two servers?
