I use
Knoppix regularly on my home PC to check my work's external environment
from home. I use several Knoppix related LiveCD versions of Linux such as
PHLAK, Knoppix-STD and Auditor's Toolkit.
My
question is this: Is there a way to register Nessus for the plugins and save
that registration file off to a USB or some other device. When using the
Live CD, each time I boot it appears to www.nessus.org that I have a brand new
installation of Nessus. I have written scripts to automate the
nessus-mkcert and nessus-adduser components, but with the new registration model
I cannot reuse the registration number as nessus.org sees that key as already
being used, which leads me to pointlessly re-register to get a new key every
time I want to perform a scan.
So
post-registration, is there a configuration file I could copy off somewhere and
copy back each time I start Nessus again, so that nessus.org would see my
valid registration?
I
would appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
kgriffen
