It's not like I've ever approved any of these binaries in the first
place -- I've even asked Debian to REMOVE the Nessus packages. When
you change the path to the config files, plugins and such, it makes
my life much harder to support these binaries, which -- sometimes --
are not even tested ! There was a problem with a user-supplied RPM of
Nessus a few months ago which would cause a SIGSEGV when executing
a .nes plugin -- great. And after that, people complain that "Nessus
crashes" and I'm the one who has to diagnose what the package
maintainer broke.
As I said a few days ago, we're working on supplying the community
with our own binaries. However these binaries will be tested and
QA'ed, not just compiled hoping it will work OK.
