Re-run the installer and when it prompts you for the installation
location, type Ctrl-Z and find the scratch directory the installer is
using (nessus-installer.* under /tmp or /var/tmp perhaps). What are the
timestamps on the directories? When you're finished, type "fg" to return
to the installer and then Ctrl-C to break out of it.

Also, do you have 'touch' installed? If so, what version is it ("touch
--version" may work) and where is it from (eg, a particular package
under RedHat)?

And finally, what exactly does "date" report?
