I'd be curious to see a packet dump of traffic to/from port 1241 when
this happens.
Also, does this happen if you use openssl's s_client command to connect
to nessusd? Something like:
openssl s_client -connect localhost:1241 \
-tls1 \
-cert cert_Username.pem \
-CAfile /usr/local/openssl/private/cacert.pem
