Aphex,

I had the same problems on the same platform (and other
Mandriva-/Mandrake-Version, too).

I did the following and didn't find any errors after scanning some hosts
for testing V3.

urpmi db4
urpmi libdb4.3-devel
cd /usr/lib
ln -s libssl.so.0.9.7 libssl.so.4
ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.7 libcrypto.so.4
urpmi --allow-nodeps --allow-force Nessus-3.0.1-es4.i386.rpm
then, try an installation without dependencies when asked.
after this, Nessus should behave like under "normal" circumstances.

Let me add, that I didn't experience such problems (missing symlinks:
yes - still unresolved dependencies after correct symlinks: no) using
packages where the source is available, e.g. nessus-v2 *duck'n'run*

Cheers,

Toby

I've been trying to install nessus on my mandrake machine (2.6.12-14mdk).
I keept getting some dependency errors.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] mike]# rpm -Uvh Nessus-3.0.1-es3.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
db4 is needed by Nessus-3.0.1-es3.i386
libcrypto.so.4 is needed by Nessus-3.0.1-es3.i386
libssl.so.4 is needed by Nessus-3.0.1-es3.i386

I have the current packages installed,
libopenssl0.9.7-0.9.7g-2.1.20060mdk
libopenssl0.9.7-devel-0.9.7g-2.1.20060mdk
libopenssl0.9.7-static-devel-0.9.7g-2.1.20060mdk
libcryptopp5-5.3-0.20050714.1mdk
libcryptopp5-devel-5.3-0.20050714.1mdk
libcryptopp5-static-devel-5.3-0.20050714.1mdk

Are there going to be Mandrake rpm's or should I still be using
Nessus-3.0.1-es3.i386.rpm or Nessus-3.0.1-es4.i386.rpm.

Thank you,
Aphex
