Since my question is very similar, I post this as followup.
We first run port scans using nessus. After that nessus is getting fired
up and I see no way to prevent nessus from running his own port scanner
to identify remote services by giving nessus all open ports found with
nmap.
But maybe there is a way and I don't see it and you do? :)
Cheers,

I am setting up a scan. If I enable the nmap –o (os fingerprint flag).
Even if I enable all nessus plugins for example will nessus only run the
pluggins based on what nmap returns as OS detection? To recap if I
enable nessus redhat and windows plugins. If nmap comes back with an os
of windows. I only want nessus to run the windows plugins. Is this the
default behaviour or is there something I have to do?
thanks
