It might "work" (or at least compile and produce some output when
doing a scan) but AIX users are on their own. The last version of
Nessus I compiled on AIX was 1.2.x, and even then I do not recall
having the chance to fully test it (I might be wrong, it was so long
ago), so maybe packet capture or .nes plugins do not work -- it's not
because you end up with a process listening on port 1241 that it
means nessusd work at its fullest.
In other words, if you intend to perform a serious vulnerability
audit of your network but do not want to spend countless hours
wondering if the results you obtain are due to the way you installed
the tool yourself, then believe me : you're better off buying a cheap
PC, install Linux or FreeBSD on it and then run Nessus on top of it.
