I just removed NEWT and installed the Windows 3.0.3 beta. Registration was successful but the plugin update fails. It connects and finds new plugins, but fails to download providing the error "Update failed to finish, please try again later."
Client.log contains the following:
TNS_IXMLDOMDocument::load(C:\Program Files\Tenable\Nessus\plugins\plugins.xml) failed
I have confirmed that the software firewall and hardware firewall are not blocking anything to plugins.nessus.org. Netstat confirms a connection to port 80 of that IP. My firewall also indicates the same connection. I don't see any evidence that the systems are unable to communicate or that the file type of the download is being blocked.
Is it possible the plugin server is just too busy? Maybe the timeout is set too short.
