Found it.  I had the nessusrc file from the 2.2.7 version and had trusted_ca pointing to a directory that no longer existed.  Thanks!!

You probably have set a high 'paranoia level' when being asked for  
the first time. This forces you to set 'trusted_ca' to the relevant  
path in your .nessusrc file.

You can either set your paranoia level to 1, or edit your  
'trusted_ca' variable to point to the Nessus server CA.
