I`m actually a bit lost.
when I install nessus on a new installed freeBSD 6.1 it don`t work because there are missing libraries like libnessus.so.2, etc. but after making a symbolic link this was fixed.
the main problem is the file libnsl.so.1 which don`t work with any option and quick hack I tried.
The Output is following:
[Thu Oct 5 13:23:06 2006][11001] nessusd 2.2.8. started
[Thu Oct 5 13:38:50 2006][11001] received the INT signal

[Thu Oct 5 13:49:01 2006][23778] Couldn't load nmap_wrapper.nes - /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins/nmap_wrapper.nes: Undefined symbol "__errno_location"
[Thu Oct 5 13:49:02 2006][23778] Couldn't load nikto_wrapper.nes - /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins/nikto_wrapper.nes: Undefined symbol "stderr"
The same behaviour also with Nessus-3.0.3.
I hope someone also found this problem and was able to solve it.
best regards
