Look in the 'scan' logfile, under C:\Program Files\Tenable\Nessus\logs. What does it say for the targets you tried to scan? Also, which platform are you scanning from? If Windows XP, have you tweaked the settings as described in <http://www.nessus.org/documentation/nessus_3.0_client_guide.pdf> to avoid problems caused by limits to the number of simultaneous incomplete outbound TCP connections?
