As I said, the Web site has thousands of pages. A thorough scan would

Why not? Can you point to anything specific that Nessus is missing?

Because I read in it's description that it creates a local mirror of the
site. I don't see this happening.

The plugin doesn't actually mirror the complete content of a site like, say, "wget --mirror". Instead, it tries to determine the names of directory paths on a web server as well as the various extensions of the pages there and saves the information in the KB. So again, I recommend you check with the KB to see whether in fact the plugin is actually working.

Sorry, there is nothing about "Thorough tests" there, nor under other
tabs.

Which client and version are you using then? It seemed from an earlier message that you were using the Nessus for Windows client, but perhaps I've just made a bad assumption.

The white paper you refer to below also mentions existence of
"Thorough tests" just a few lines away from a screen cap that shows that
there are no "Thorough tests" there.

Are you refering the graphic on page 11 of <http://www.nessus.org/documentation/nessus_3.0_client_guide.pdf>? If so, then understand that you will need to scroll down when in the client in order to see the "Thorough tests" option.

Sure, I've read these documents. They did not answer my questions.

Would you care to share any questions you still have and suggest improvements that could be made in the documentation?

George
