Hey George, that did it. Installing the compat-openssl097g package got me
working on 3.0.5 now. I appreciate the help, Thanks much.

My apologies for overlooking this until now...
Do you have the compat-openssl097g package installed? It provides
lib{crypto,ssl}.so.0.9.7 so it sounds like you do not currently.
