ok thanks, I've just done a nessus-update-plugins so hopefully this will
fix it.
I'm going to do another network audit and see if the report is still
full of non-existent hosts....

It completely ruins any network reports if you have nikto with nessus.
Sorry Hari, I should have replied before. I patched nikto.nasl shortly
after your original message to avoid this problem. If you're not at
revision 1.7 of the plugin, run nessus-update-plugins.
