Hello, We are just beginning to analyze a scan that possibly caused ChartWorks Server 3.7.0 (http://www.visualmining.com/) on Windows 2000 to crash. The vendor has been responsive and is not aware of Nessus, ISS, or Qualys causing any issues. We ran Nessus Server version 3.0.3 - build 2S110 on Mac OSX system10.4.9 / Darwin 8.9.1 and the latest general plugin feed from last week. Due to many details lost in lingual translation and technical experience, we still do not know the effects, which makes it hard to correlate the stimulus(i) that caused the failure. So, I am wondering if anyone on this list has ever scanned ChartWorks Server 3.7.0, and if so, what their experiences have been. This might help us understand if Nessus did send stimulus that caused the issue, and if so, which plugin.
As for Nessus, we will be reviewing the nessusd.messages and other related scan information. If we had the ability to scan again, other than running all the scans sequentially and logging everything, does the list have any other suggestions? By the way, we have local administrative access to this server, too. Cheers, Jon Passki, Partner The Hursk Group, LLC e. [EMAIL PROTECTED] o. 651/222.3020 "Obvia conspicimus, nubem pellente Mathesi."
