Don't currently have access to test client connect to Linux Nessus Server, but get exactly same error message when trying to connect to localhost Nessus Server (Windows 3.0.6) on Windows XP SP fully patched. Crash happens consistently during connect process.
Standard crash dialog box saying Nessus Client.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.. sorry for the inconvenience along with the option to <Send Error Report> or <Don't Send>.
