This is just FYI... hopefully I will figure this out.

I have been succesfully using a nessus 2.2.6 instance on Ubuntu 6.0.6
LTS box for some time.

After routine Ubuntu patch and nessus plugin upgrade, I find that I
can't get meaningful results.

If I disable all plugins and select known open ports, ports are
detected.
On GUI, portscan is shown occurring quickly and then a normal report -
albeit with no actual test results. But the ports are detected.

If I then enable plugins, I see NO portscan ocurring and the subsequent
test indicator goes by slowly.
The reports provide general information about TCP and oddly info about a
udp 123 listener that IS there but certainly not part of my selection.

On a fresh/patched ubuntu 6.0.6 install with fresh nessus install, same
results occur. I have tried both with the debian package provided by
nessus using dpkg and with the ubuntu synaptic nessus package.

Something has changed, and I suspect its ubuntu 6.0.6 LTS
