The Nessus Client 3 scanner is a completely new application and has
nothing to do with the older Nessus clients which had different
functionality and portability across Windows and UNIX. With the new
client we focused on a unified reporting format and making sure the
same features were available across all platforms.

The current Nessus Client 3.0 User Guide does not have support for
the new Nessus Client yet and will be updated shortly.

I'm sorry you don't think it is complete.

One of the issues with the older clients is they all had different
ways to export reports and manage scan configurations. With the Nessus
Client, there is now a common ".nessus" report format which has been
extensively documented. By having the same format available to all
Nessus users, it will be much easier for users to write new reporting
and analysis tools for Nessus.
