Hi everyone,

I have an issue with two servers running nessus under Debian testing.

I usually launch scans with user www-data and that is usually the owner of
nessusrc; but time to time I have notice that client cannot read it and I
have realized that the owner has changed (becoming root)

I have looked for a cron job, a pattern or anything that could have done
this, but I have found nothing.

Does anyone knows why is this happening?

I've already search in google and at news's archives and I have no clue
about what could it be.

uname -a
Linux scdll01 2.6.18-4-686 #1 SMP Wed Feb 21 16:06:54 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

OS: Updated Debian Testing (lenny)

Nessus have been installed through
http://www.nessus.org/download/nessus_download.php

This is the command I type:
/opt/nessus/bin/nessus -c /opt/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusrc
-T nbe -x -q 127.0.0.1 1241 <nessus_name>
<nessus_pwd> /tmp/ip_test.txt /tmp/ip_test.nbe

/opt/nessus/bin/nessus -v
nessus (Nessus) 3.0.6 for Linux

cat /tmp/ip_test.txt
66.102.9.147

ls -ld /opt/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusrc (obviously when it is correct)
-rw------- 1 www-data www-data 13167 2008-03-26
17:18 /opt/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusrc

Any thought will be appreciated!
