I am sorry it took so long to get back to you. I had this scan never finishes problem for about a week. It was easily reproduceable. On Tuesday I did a update plugins, but I got busy and did not do the scan. Wednesday I did another update but someone rebooted the server midscan. Thursday I did another update plugins and the scan finished. I did another update and another scan this morning and the scan finished. I don't know what to tell you.
