Hello,

Could someone point me in the right direction to find an answer (or build an
answer) to the following question.

Several situations require us to perform scanning only during specific scanning
windows, either to prevent impact on production systems, to be in line with
change control, or to scan at a time when machines (desktops/notebooks) are
likely to be available and not turned off.

I know Nessus supports 'pausing', but this is impractical when scanning several
thousand hosts over a longer term period (i.e. we can't deploy a resource to
click pause/resume at selected times during the middle of the night).

Is there a feature or way this can be done up front at scan definition? Right
now I am leaning towards cron'ning it and using the CLI client with suspend
(SIGSTOP) and resume (SIGCONT) signals sent at appropriate times.

Thanks,
Dominic
