Hi,
I am (ab)using the net-snmp core for the following construction:
Machine A Machine B Machine n
(non-managable) (non-managable) (non-managable)

| serveral infos...
|
Net-SNMP-Server
acting as an snmp-proxy
(for nms)
|
|
big NMS
The NMS monitors the unmanagable machines through the
snmp-proxy, the accoring machine-infos are sent periodical in
a non-changeable format from the machines to the net-snmp-server.
I wrote some code around the net-snmp-core, that allows it to store the informations per machine in extra non-netsnmp-structures and the machine selection from the nms is also not a big deal.
I am quite happy with the net-snmp low-level networking API (ASN/BER-Coding, experimental server support).
There is only one question. Is it possible to create multiple mib-tree instances? (Id really like to use the build in mib-browser and mib-tree)
I looked around in the code abit, but i could not find out an easy way to do it.... Because I suppose you are quite better coders than me, I ask you for any suggestions, where to look or what to change.
thanks,
