no i am not compiling a subagent,
 
reagarding current version did you mean current version of snmp on uclinux?
because i cannot use latest version called net-snmp, my idea of using snmp agent comes along with uclinux distribution is that it will tuned to work on embedded system, there is however no doubt that current net-snmp can also be ported but it will require some effort.
