What is the exact "snmptranslate" command that you are giving?
How have you told it to load the new MIB?

See the FAQ entry
How do I add a MIB to the tools?

Which version of the suite are you using?
Is "x.y.z" a numeric OID, or a MIB name?
Can you run "snmptranslate .x.y.z" successfully?

There's no point in running mib2c until snmptranslate is working.
Both of these rely on having the MIB file loaded properly.

Also, have you installed the SNMP perl modules?
Again, mib2c relies on having these available.

What sort of messages do you get from mib2c?

Dave
