-Coders,
here's my initial feedback regarding 5.2.pre1:
GOOD: - compiles fine on SuSE Linux 9.0 (x86)
BAD: - SNMPv3 in the agent will still stop working after ~248 days!! (see http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=8795635)
MINOR: - snmplib/snmpv3.c should use enterpriseid (8072) instead of ucdavisid (2021) in setup_engineID(), line 587 (see http://sourceforge.net/mailarchie/message.php?msg_id=8849723) - POD documentation in perl/ASN/ASN.pm and perl/default_store/default_store.pm (quote: "Perl extension for blah blah blah") could obviously be improved ;) - TODO should really be updated a bit (last change: 2002-04-20!). - minor issue in COPYING (see my recent mail on this) - man/snmpd.conf.5.def says: "The default value of the engineID is configured with the first IP address found for the hostname of the machine." which is wrong, AFAICS (default algorithm is UCD_RND).
MARKETING: - "Recent News" on the Net-SNMP.org homepage should cover the availability of 5.2.pre1 (and 5.1.2!)
Most (if not all) of this feedback applies to 5.1.2, too, actually.
