No - that's not quite right.
Traps are meant to be sent to port 162 by default - the bug in
versions <= 5.1.1 is that the *default* port is set to 161.
That particular bug is fixed in 5.1.2, but earlier releases can
change the port manually.

You don't need to touch the code at all.
Simply specify the trap destination using something like
trapsink mytraphost:162
^^^
i.e. specify the port explicitly.
