I initially postponed this patch, thinking it wouldn't be useful until we
wanted to be multithreaded, but Geert made a prefectly valid point in the irc
channel: use of strtok in the library could interfere with an application's own
use of strtok. Now I'm thinking that we should go ahead and replace strok.
Have a BSD-like licensed strtok_r to use, in case a platform does not ?
