Wes' idea would still work for you, as the old api does have a higher level
wrapper using the new api.

That is definitely a problem. That information is not passed to sub-agents, and
any method of doing so would be proprietary. In other words, you'd have to
patch the master agent, and it wouldn't be a patch that would be accepted into
the base code.
