Dave,
I'm getting ready to install SNMP in a small embedded platform. Net-SNMP
immediately came to mind as a port since I've used it and liked it in the
past. At this point, using SNMPv1 will suffice for this simple device; I
foresee it using only a few MIBs.
The client is already making noises about minimizing the memory footprint.
So I was wondering, would you happen to know (approximately) the size of the executable if I follow the minimize steps in the FAQ? I realize that this will change as MIBs are added, but wanted a general idea of the footprint before sitting down with the customer.
The size will also depend on your compiler toolchain I would imagine. The best approach would be to try compiling and see. If that is not possible you might try building on Linux after following the steps in the FAQ. That should give you a ballpark figure.
Regards, Andy
Thanx in advance for your time.
Regards, Bryce Bingham
