But what about the *persistent* config file. Shut down the agent. Remove these lines from the file c:\usr\etc\snmp\snmpd.conf and insert them into c:\usr\snmp\persistent\snmpd.conf and restart the agent (again with the same debug flags). What do you see then? ==> I shutdown the agent, remove following lines from the file c:\usr\etc\snmp\snmpd.conf engineID 80001 engineBoots 1 createUser initial MD5 12345678 insert them into c:\usr\snmp\persistent\snmd.conf and then restart the agent with command "snmpd -Dsnmpv3" got these: D:\>snmpd -Dsnmpv3 No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging snmpd: send_trap: Timeout (No such file or directory) NET-SNMP version 5.2 and file c:\usr\snmp\persistent\snmpd.conf was flushed, what I had put was deleted and got these lines: setserialno 6002 engineBoots 1 oldEngineID 0x80001f888094730000a0906d42 > problems still existes, before I restart my agent, in order to let my > MIB Browser do time Synchronization, I had to put "engineBoots x" > in config file where x is one bigger than previous engindBoots before > I restart my agent. That should be handled automatically. You shouldn't have to do this yourself.
