Title: Using Net SNMP to log to Syslog

Dear Dave,

At present our firewall regulations do not permit the sending of snmp traps through the network, however the server I wish to monitor

Has a syslog server process . How can I configure the agent to send to syslog rather than send a trap. Do I have to setup a trap receiver snmptrapd

Process on the server and send the trap to port 162 localhost ? Or is there a more direct way to log to localhost syslog?

Regards

Paul Rose
