I'm applying your patch to the main branch, but not the rest, as it seems too much a rather large change to consider it a patch for 5.1 or 5.2. (unless there is a lot of disagreement about this from other people). By the way, starting in 5.2 (I think) we now include a perl module that allows you to receive traps from within snmptrapd itself (IE, perl callbacks are embeddable within snmptrapd).
