Hold on - you say you're running the "non net-snmp"
sub-agent on port 1611, and "snmpdx" (Sun's agent)
on port 161.
So where are you running the Net-SNMP agent?

If you're asking whether snmpdx understands the
"proxy" directive, the answer is almost certainly No.
That directive is part of the Net-SNMP agent configuration.
Snmpdx is the name of Sun's extensible agent - it's
*not* the same as our agent.

If you need to discover how to extend Sun's agent,
you should probably talk to them about it.

If that's not what you meant, you probably need to
give a bit more detail about exactly what you're
trying to do.
