It looks more like it has to do with your Perl install. My suggestion
would be to try installing the Cygwin Perl. Alex is the resident Perl
expert, maybe he has an idea.

Hi Andy,
i just have compiled net-snmp
5.2.1.2 . i patched the code with the patches from Alex_b. the origin
errors are gone but now I get this error:
compiler output snippet
snip://
make[2]: *** [../blib/arch/auto/NetSNMP/agent/agent.dll] Error2
make[2] Leaving directory 'net-snmp/perl/agent'
make[1]: ***[subdirs] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory 'net-snmp/perl'
make: *** [perlmodules] Error 1
//snap
has it to do with the regex patch (i have done it on cygwin) ? please
help me i need this API for my thesis.

hi,
i'm a complete newbie to net-snmp. i try to compile it since
yesterday but there is always the same error:
make: *** No rule to make target 'winservicerc.lo', needed by
'libnetsnmp.la' . Stop.
make[1]: Leavingdirectory '/cygdrive/d/net-snmp/snmplib'
make: *** [subdirs] Error 1
Cygwin does not define WIN32. What is your configure line?
I use win 2003 server, snmp 5.1.3.1, activestate perl and cygwin
current release with cygwin regex installed.
could it be related with this warning?
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: section "Present but Cannot be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: winsock.h: in te future , the compiler will take
precedence
any thougts? please help me
This should not hurt anything. I have not upgraded my Cygwin or tried
to compile with it in quite some time but I will give it a shot and
see what I can come up with.
Regards,
Andy
