The name is bound, unfortunately, by publication already... Aliasing
would be the only option if you wanted to rename it.
Sure, that's how it was discussed in this thread. As you proposed the
other new names: do you care to propose a new alias name for
NETSNMP_DS_LIB_DONT_PERSIST_STATE, too? (Proposals from the rest of the
crowd probably accepted, too ;-).)
