Sure... before this change, the library would, if snmpconf was not set, build a temporary path based on the defaults. So you'd end up with something like: /usr/etc/snmp:/usr/share/snmp:/usr/lib/snmp:/root/.snmp:/var/net-snmp So, if a conf file in the path set persistentDir, it wouldn't take effect immediately, and files in the dir wouldn't be parsed til the next time round, while files in /var/net-snmp that you might not want parsed would get parsed. The change simply doesn't tack on the persistent dir initially, but rather goes through the config dirs, then gets the (perhaps updated) persistent directory and goes through it. -- Robert Story; NET-SNMP Junkie Support: <http://www.net-snmp.org/> <irc://irc.freenode.net/#net-snmp> Archive: <http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum=net-snmp-coders> You are lost in a twisty maze of little standards, all different. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Power Architecture Resource Center: Free content, downloads, discussions, and more. http://solutions.newsforge.com/ibmarch.tmpl _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-coders mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-coders
