I downloaded the 5.2.1.2 source code to the UP-UX machine
What HP-UX version are you running?
next I ran the configure script with params:
./configure --enable-ipv6=yes --prefix=/texusr/tomasz/net-snmp-5.2.1.2
--with-openssl=/tnm_vbase/hp11/openssl/openssl0.9.7-d
--enable-ucd-snmp-compatibility --disable-agent --with-libs=-lnm
and got the following warning
configure: WARNING: netinet/ip.h: present but cannot be compiled
[...]
In the next command (make) failed
These are *two* problems (and probably unrelated):
1) The "present but cannot be compiled" warnings should be fixed in
upcoming 5.2.2. Please test with 5.2.2.rc3 and report back.
2) "--disable-agent" currently doesn't work and will produce compile
errors. Please leave it out. You may want to remove "snmpd" later from
the install directory by hand instead.
