It's not ideal - but I don't think there is a "good" option open
to us.  This feels to be the least-worst option, IMO.

Would this mean to omit snmpnetstat from V5-2-patches *forever*? I don't particularily like the idea of locking existing snmpnetstat users (and package vendors!) within the 5.2.x line to 5.2.1.2.

Is there an easy way to port the rewrite to 5.2.x (and 5.1.x) while maintaining the *original* snmpnetstat options?
