If it does, it's because they likely tried to do it one way and left
the code in when it didn't work, and then change the global setting
again without changing the broken per-session code and thus I think
the chances of this are unlikely and though it isn't backwards
compatible, I think the change should be done because it makes sense
and backwards compatibility won't likely hurt anyone, unlike this
run-on sentence.
