Other than an irrational dislike of the MfD structure, you mean? :-)

If I understand the code correctly, this value is reported from
the 'data.ifLastChange' field, which is set by _add_new_interface()
(in ifTable/ifTable_data_access.c) when the interface is first
detected.

There's also a separate field 'ifTable_if_ctx.last_changed',
which I *think* is related to the scalar 'ifTableLastChange'

I don't see how either of these can detect changes in the
operational state of an individual interface, which is what
ifLastChange is meant to report.

Now I'm quite prepared to believe that I've missed something
significant.  I'm afraid that I do still find the MfD code
structure extremely confusing.   But I've waded through this
code several times now, and I'm increasingly convinced that
this object is not reporting the right values.
