How is this object defined?

It's almost certainly the case that the index values are being
returned correctly, and it's just that the Net-SNMP library
doesn't know how to display them in the form you expect.

The quick-n-dirty approach would be to use the command option
'-Ob' to snmpbulkget (or any other command-line tool). This
will display the raw index values, rather than trying to guess
how best to display them.

    $ snmpgetnext     .... MY-MIB::myColumn
    MY-MIB::myColumn."..K~``"=123
    $ snmpgetnext -Ob .... MY-MIB::myColumn
    MY-MIB::myColumn.0.17.34.51.68.85=123

That's not quite the output you were looking for (decimal
rather than hex values, and dot-separated rather than
using colons). But at least the values are recognisable.

This may have be urgent for you, but:

  - I do *NOT* respond well to being bombarded with
     duplicate requests. Sending me a private copy
     of the same message, as well as Cc:ing me on the
     mailing list version, is at least one too many.

  - I do not typically work weekends.
     (Or at least, only when *I* choose to do so).
     And Net-SNMP activity during the week has to fit
     around my other (paid) work.

If this problem is really so very urgent for you, then I
suggest that you consider employing an SNMP consultant
(and paying them appropriately). If you are expecting
assistance for free, then you will need to cultivate a
little patience.

Dave
