Would it be possible to put up a tarball of a clean checkout of the trunk
and maybe some branches somewhere, as a stopgap measure for those who lack
developer CVS access?

I do not even imagine that those copies should come more frequently than maybe
once every one or two weeks but it would nice to have anyhow.
