Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your quick response. Test 36 and 37 do fail:
36: testing snmptrapd embedded perl support (NetSNMP::TrapReceiver)...
(no pid file(s) found) FAIL
37: testing snmpd embedded perl support (using NetSNMP::agent)... (no
pid file(s) found) FAIL
I have verfied my perl lib paths are correct (verified via lsof).
I am going to try compiling with " --enable-developer".
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Regards,
John

I read the README.solaris (yes, all of it) and compiled (gcc) a
specific version of perl for NetSNMP using the guidelines in the
README.solaris. NetSNMP compiles fine and works as it should.
However, when I attempt to bring up a subagent via perl using
NetSNMP::agent it fails to register.
Did you successfully run "make test" when building net-snmp with
embedded perl? The test suite contains two tests for embedded perl
(#36 for snmptrapd, #37 for snmpd) that would be expected to reveal
major problems with the embedded perl functionality.
Did you double-check that your agent is loading the right net-snmp and
perl libs?
